Curated, Considered, Collected: Meet Constantina Vintage

If jewellery were a love language, Deanna Hristakis would be fluent. The founder of Constantina Vintage has built a brand where vintage isn’t just about nostalgia, but story, sculpture, and slow fashion at its most sublime.

With a background in Art History and an eye trained on everything from Brancusi to Tom Ford-era Gucci, Deanna has carved out a niche as one of Australia’s most distinctive jewellery curators. Her pieces—sourced from hidden boutiques and private collectors around the globe—aren’t just accessories. They’re wearable art.

“What draws me most to the 70s and 80s is the fearlessness of those decades and the unapologetic way jewellery was used to make a statement,” Deanna shares. “There’s a natural boldness of the pieces of the time, as well as a glamour and edge that feels both effortless and commanding.”

The sculptural silhouettes. The power dressing. The unapologetic opulence. “The 80s, in particular, are having a clear resurgence in modern style,” she says. “This has revived strong and expressive accessorising in a timeless yet modern way.”

You only need to scroll through Constantina Vintage’s Instagram to see how that ethos lives on. A chunky YSL chain, a Chanel medallion dripping with 80s opulence, a vintage Dior bracelet that could belong in a museum (but, thankfully, doesn’t). They feel nostalgic, yes—but not dated. These pieces have presence.

And that’s by design. With a trained eye for form, line, and provenance, Deanna approaches every acquisition like a gallery curator. “I consider line, shape, form, and texture, much like I would with a piece of art,” she explains. “The pieces I lean towards are not just accessories, but expressions of design and history.”

It’s this philosophy that gives Constantina Vintage its signature feel: quietly luxurious, slightly off-beat, always timeless. Each piece feels intimate. Collected. Loved.

“A vintage piece carries the story of its era whilst still speaking to the present moment,” Deanna shares. And now, she’s taking that connection offline.

Enter: The Sydney Private Shopping Event - an intimate, champagne-laced experience that promises to reimagine what vintage retail can feel like. A personal salon that’s tailored, tactile, and entirely transportive — where every piece has a story, and every guest gets the time to hear it.

Born from her signature one-on-one service, the event is designed to reflect the quiet luxury Constantina Vintage has become known for. “I’m constantly in conversation with our customers; answering questions, offering styling advice, and helping them choose the perfect piece,” Deanna says. “That one-on-one connection has been at the heart of the brand since the beginning.”

Creating an in-person space that mirrors that warmth felt like a natural evolution. “To me, it often feels like helping a friend style an outfit or find the right gift; it’s warm and considered,” she adds.

Set against the refined backdrop of The Intercontinental Double Bay, the event will give clients the opportunity to explore her coveted collection—Chanel, YSL, Gucci—in a way that feels as luxurious as the pieces themselves. No algorithms. No rush. Just beautiful jewellery, good conversation, and a glass of something sparkling.

“It’s about slowing down,” she says. “There’s something so special about shopping in a beautiful environment—it elevates the entire experience.”

And that’s exactly what Constantina Vintage has always done. Elevated not just the jewellery, but the meaning behind it.

In a world of fast drops and short-lived trends, Deanna’s approach is refreshingly deliberate. “Vintage jewellery offers a more considered and personal approach,” she says. “It’s a slower, more intentional way of engaging with fashion, which is something I believe many people are craving.”

There’s also a deeper romance to it. These are pieces that carry decades of craftsmanship, quiet glamour, and in some cases, fate. Take the antique signet ring Deanna found in New York—heart-shaped, inscribed with her initials, and discovered beside a ring bearing her mother’s name. “It felt like fate,” she reflects. “One of those rare, full-circle moments that make collecting so personal.”

Still, Deanna is the kind of curator who plays the long game. While jewellery remains Constantina Vintage’s beating heart, there’s room to expand. Future collaborations and broader curations are on the horizon — a natural evolution she’s allowing to unfold with intention. “There’s a lot of room to evolve,” she says. “And I’m letting that growth happen organically.”

Because at Constantina Vintage, nothing is done in haste. Every piece has a past, and every detail—every clasp, every engraving—is part of a larger story still unfolding.
